Bacteria, continued.....:

Bacteria have also been associated with the degradation of concrete sewer pipelines, as shown schematically in the diagram below. The acidic conditions produced on the concrete sewer walls by relatively complex microbial interactions involving both sulfate reducing bacteria and sulfur oxidizing bacteria have been linked to "attack" of the concrete.
