Stray Current Corrosion Monitoring | Features | Stray Current Start Page

There are still many practical examples of stray current corrosion problems, which can be manifested in massive structures as well as in microscopic components. The terms "electrolysis" and "interference" have also been used for stray current related corrosion problems.

Undesirable stray current effects have been associated with electrified rail transit systems, buried structures influenced by different cathodic protection systems, mining, manufacturing operations, shipping / boating, microelectronics and other systems.

This module deals mainly with direct stray current corrosion issues in larger buried structures such as pipelines.
