| Corrosion coupons - an illusion
... or is it ? Something more light-hearted ...
Someone asks you (with a certain twinkle in the eye) which of the two corrosion
monitoring coupons - from the sketch below - you would like to use: "Do you prefer
the longer one ... ?"

Schematic - based on the famous table top illusion by Roger N.
Shepard
(see reference and link below)
Having studied Roger N. Shepard's table top (and other) illusion(s), you suspect that
the two coupon plates are actually the same in size and shape and that only the perceived
perspective and changed orientation makes them appear to be dimensionally different. Not
convinced (?) ... then measure the two plates.
